Narrow-leaved red ironbark
Schulte Sawmill mills narrow-leaved red ironbark from Queensland’s Traprock country, referred to throughout this site simply as Ironbark.
This dense, hard-wearing timber is used for decking, flooring, posts, beams, treads, heavy transport and mine-site applications. Heartwood ranges from red-brown to deep red, with lighter sapwood providing natural colour variation.

An F-grade belongs to an individual piece of timber that has been stress graded. It is not automatically conferred by the species name.
Bushfire / BAL projects: BAL requirements change with the building element and construction detail. Provide the BAL and the designer or certifier’s specification so the timber can be checked for the intended use. “Ironbark” should not be specified by common name alone for BAL compliance.
